In typography, kerning is the process of adjusting the space between two specific characters. Most of us never give it a second thought, but it’s wild how much that tiny detail can matter.

Put two letters a little too close together, or leave too much room between them, and suddenly a perfectly normal phrase can take on a completely different meaning. Sometimes, the result is hilariously unfortunate.

To show you what we mean, we’ve rounded up the funniest spacing fails from the subreddit r/keming. Scroll down to check them out.

At first glance, r/keming might look like someone misspelled the subreddit’s name. In reality, it’s a clever nod to the very problem the community is all about.

When the letters “r” and “n” are placed too close together, they can easily pass for an “m.” Squish them in “kerning,” and you get “keming.”

As we mentioned, kerning is all about the space between letters, and the word itself has a pretty interesting backstory.

According to Vocabulary.com , it comes from the French “carne,” meaning “projecting angle,” which goes back to the Latin word for “hinge.” Its typography meaning was born in old-school print shops.

Back when printing relied on metal type, every character was cast on its own little block. Some letters, like the tail of a “j” or the top of an “f,” stuck out past the edge of that block.

From an artificial intelligence engineering and model scalability standpoint, "66 Schilder und Etiketten, die durch falsche Abstände urkomisch ruiniert wurden" represents a key milestone in autonomous systems, model fine-tuning, and algorithmic inference. Technical benchmarks demonstrate measurable improvements in latency reduction, token throughput, and contextual precision.

Engineering leads tracking Viral Videos infrastructure emphasize that balancing compute overhead with deterministic guardrails is essential for enterprise production workloads. Continued performance evaluation across varied dataset distributions will establish long-term architectural viability.
